3. Any member that chooses to end or pause membership will be added to the studio’s waitlist if they choose to return.

4. Clay, bisque ware and glazes from other studios or home are not allowed at The Muddy Pig. Members may NOT take work home. We will not fire outside work. All clay must be purchased through a studio staff member.

5. Members will not load, unload, or operate the kiln.

6. At this time, blow torches and heat guns are not allowed.

7. Members are responsible for leaving the studio in a clean condition. Please clean any and all tools and return them to appropriate areas. Wipe down all wheels, wedging areas, and equipment you use.

8. Do not touch or move any clay projects that do not belong to you. If you need to move a piece, please ask a staff member.

9. Membership is only intended for individuals and does not extend to family and friends. Under no circumstances should family or friends use any studio tools, wheels, clay or glazes.

10. Each member has an assigned shelf. All tools and clay should be stored there. Students and Members are responsible for labeling their tools and storing them on their shelves.

11. The Muddy Pig is not responsible for personal belongings left in the studio.

12. 10-12 Mayco Stoneware dipping glazes are available for use at no extra charge. These glazes can be found in the labeled 5 gallon white pails. Additional brush on Mayco glazes can be purchased in 16oz containers. Personal glazes must be kept on your personal shelf.

13. All work should be marked with the maker’s mark or signature. It may help to keep a record of your work with drawings, notes, or photos.

14. Load firing racks starting from top to bottom and left to right to make room for other members and students.

15. Work will be placed on personal shelves by a staff member as soon as possible. If pieces are not easily identifiable they will be placed on the No Name shelf.

16. Leave an unglazed area at the bottom of your pieces. Leave more space from the bottom unglazed if you are layering glazes or using a runny glaze. You will be monetarily responsible for replacing kiln shelves destroyed by glazing errors. ($50-$75/shelf). Each glazed piece will be placed onto a “cookie” in the glaze firing. This cookie is intended to protect our kiln shelves and your piece from getting stuck to an entire shelf, which would result in a fine. (cookie = small slab of recycled clay).
